There has been a flurry of interest in Erlang on Hacker News recently with so many spinoff posts that I haven’t had a chance to catch up with them all. I figured I’d share them on my blog fyi and my sake (can’t depend on your social bookmarking sites these days, ya know? Ahem, Del.icio.us).
Well, I have been obsessed with Comet recently and that has taken me through some interesting paths. I’ve been looking into Python’s Tornado server (thanks to friendfeed), Node.js & Socket.io, & Ruby’s Faye & Juggernaut to name a few. During this little hunt, I got to thinking about building highly concurrent systems and that was when I came across Erlang and Scala. Anyways, here are those links.

Oh, one more thing - I also came across Map-Reduce for Ruby on top of Hadoop via Cloudera: http://www.cloudera.com/blog/2011/01/map-reduce-with-ruby-using-apache-hadoop/
Yes, I am being mysterious about this whole Comet business, but expect a detailed post later and of course, demos :-)
